STURGIS, S.D. – One of the new events for this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the ‘Pearl’s Girls Ride.’
This all-women’s ride honors the legacy of Pearl Hoel, wife of Pappy Hoel, founder of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Pearl stood alongside her husband helping plan and host the Rally for many years.
The Pearl’s Girls ride, scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 9, will be led by longtime Sturgis resident and Sturgis City Councilor Beka Zerbst, who will take everyone on her favorite rides throughout the beautiful Black Hills.
Accompanying Zerbst on the ride will be the 83RD City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Grand Marshal Laura Klock.
Klock has seen all sides of the Rally from being a vendor to enjoying all the Rally has to offer while on girls’ trips to the event.
“I’m so excited to represent the rally and encourage people to come here if they’ve never been. Even if they don't ride motorcycle, they can come and experience it and see this world. It’s amazing.”
