PIERRE, S.D. – Five new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Friday as the State Department of Health reported 129 new cases of the virus. Of the 129 new cases, 18 were considered probable.
New deaths were reported in Deuel, Kingsbury, Minnehaha, Roberts and Union Counties. The five new deaths send the state’s death toll to 1,967.
Active cases dropped by almost 100 today to 1,624.
The number of people hospitalized dropped by three to 112.
Pennington County had 13 new cases Friday, with one of the listed as probable.
Four new cases were reported in Lawrence County and Meade County had no new cases to report Friday.
There was one new case each in Butte, Custer, Fall River and Oglala Lakota Counties.
