CODY, Wyo. (AP) – Actor Harrison Ford and rapper Kanye West will take part in a celebrity softball game for charity in Wyoming.
The game on June 13 in Cody will raise money for cancer research. Organizer Ryan Brown tells the Casper Star-Tribune other confirmed players include former Denver Broncos football players Byron Chamberlain, Spencer Larsen and Shawn Moore. Former Wyoming Cowboys’ football captain and Chicago Bears safety Chris Prosinski will also play in the tournament.
Brown said half the proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the other half to the cancer treatment center in Cody. Losing his dad to cancer was part of Brown’s inspiration for organizing the event.
The tournament will take place at Milward Simpson Field in Cody.
On June 12, “Dinner on the Diamond” will be held. Speakers will include celebrities, professional athletes and cancer survivors.
Ford is best known for his roles in the “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” movie franchises. His newest film, a remake of “The Call of the Wild,” is currently in theaters. He has a home in Jackson.
West recently bought two ranches in the Cody area and has become active in the community His latest album release in 2019 “Jesus is King” is his ninth to debut at number one on the Billboard charts. The album was written and produced at his home in the Cowboy State.
