VERMILLION, S.D. – Holly Gerberding, a redshirt junior medical biology major at the University of South Dakota, earned a Summit League championship in the 400 meter hurdles and a second place in the long jump on Saturday at the Lillibridge Track Complex.
Gerberding, a 2017 Sturgis Brown High School graduate, ran a personal best 1:00.37 in the outdoor 400 meter hurdles to win the event at the Summit League Championships, placing her at #4 all-time in the USD record books. Gerberding also jumped a personal best 19-feet 9-inches to place second in the Summit League, putting her at #6 all-time in USD track and field history.
Gerberding won the indoor Summit League Pentathlon title in the 2019-2020 track season, capturing her first-ever league title with a personal best pentathlon score of 3,759 points. The Coyote women’s track team took second place at the Summit League Championships on Saturday.
