Four additional deaths reported in Friday’s COVID-19 Update

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Health officials reported 544 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, of which, 136 were listed as probable.

Active cases continued to increase statewide, with 7,794 being reported today.

The number of people hospitalized remained stable at 214. The Black Hills region continues to lead the state in the number of hospitalizations. Monument Health reports 104 COVID-19 patients, with 21 in the I.C.U. and 26 on ventilators.

Four new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Friday. The state’s death toll climbs to 2,100.

As for new cases across the Black Hills:

Pennington County reported 105 confirmed new cases and 46 probable new cases.

Meade County reported 24 confirmed and 5 probable for a total of 29 and Lawrence County had 16 confirmed and 3 probable for a total of 19.

Butte County reported 11 new cases; all of them confirmed.

Elsewhere, Custer County added 10 new cases, Fall River County listed 6 new cases and Oglala Lakota County had 2 new additional cases.
