Fourteen new COVID-19 cases reported Friday, more than half scattered across the Black Hills area

STURGIS, S.D. – The state health department reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 Friday and more than half of them were located across the Black Hills area.

Meade County had the most with 2 confirmed and 1 probable new case. Pennington, Butte, Custer and Oglala Lakota County all reported one new case each.

One new death was reported today, sending the state’s death toll to 2,030.

For the second day in a row, active cases increased. The number was up six over yesterday to 170.

The number of people hospitalized decreased to 15.
