PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 492 new cases of COVID-19 Monday with 113 of those listed as probable.
Active cases are up to 7,682 while the number of people hospitalized was down slightly to 246.
Fourteen new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Monday, sending the state’s death toll to 2,371. New deaths were reported out of Brookings, Brown, Buffalo, Codington, Dewey, Kingsbury, McCook and Minnehaha counties.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 41 total new cases Monday with 5 of those considered as probable.
Lawrence County added 9 new cases and both Meade and Butte County had 7 new cases each.
Elsewhere, Fall River County tallied 6 new cases, Oglala Lakota County had 3 and there were 2 new cases reported out of Custer County.
