PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Health Department reported 983 new cases of COVID-19 over the past week.
In their weekly report issued Wednesday, the department also reported 14 new deaths among cases, sending the state’s death toll to 3,167. Two of those deaths were out of Pennington County.
Hospitalizations totaled 73 this past week with active cases at 757 as of Wednesday.
New cases around the Black Hills area this past week included 113 out of Pennington County, 33 in Meade County and 18 out of Lawrence County.
Elsewhere, Butte County listed 7 new cases, Custer County had 2, Fall River County showed 10 and Oglala Lakota County reported 38.
