PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 448 new cases of COVID-19 Friday with 105 of those listed as probable.
Active cases remained relatively steady at 7,692 and the number of people hospitalized dropped by 9 to 261.
There were six new deaths reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,398. One of those new deaths was out of Lawrence County, who has realized three deaths this week.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 39 new cases with 5 of those listed as probable.
Lawrence County had 7 new cases and Meade County reported 3.
Elsewhere, Fall River County reported 8 new cases, Butte had 5, Custer County listed 4 and Oglala Lakota County had 2 new cases.
