Friday COVID-19 Report – 5 new deaths, 132 new, confirmed cases

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 132 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in their Friday report. There were also 28 listed as probable statewide.

Five new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death total since the pandemic began to 1,768.

Active cases dropped by 77 to 3,060 and the number of people hospitalized due to the virus fell by 9 Friday to 152.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 36 new cases with 6 listed as probable.

In Pennington County, there were 25 total cases with 2 probable.

Meade County had one new confirmed case and 2 probable.

Lawrence County added 2 new probable cases,

Elsewhere across the area, Butte, Fall River and Oglala Lakota all reported 2 new confirmed cases.
