Friday COVID-19 report sees increase in active cases

PIERRE, SD – There were 148 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 51 probable cases in the South Dakota Department of Health’s COVID-19 report on Friday.

Hospitalization increased by 10 from Thursday’s report at a reported 116.

One new death was reported bringing the state’s total to 1,957.

Across the Black Hills area, Penning County reported 12 new cases with an additional two as probably, The number of active cases increased to 159.

Meade County has 24 active cases and reported three new cases on Friday.Butte County has 11 confirmed cases today and 19 active cases.  Lawrence County reported four new cases and 32 active cases.  Oglala County reported one new case and nine active cases.  Butte County has 11 new cases confirmed and 19 active cases.
