PIERRE, S.D. – In their Friday COVID-19 report, state health officials reported six new deaths – the most in a single day since seven were reported back on May 20th. The new deaths raise the state’s death toll to 2,010.
New cases of COVID-19 were up today as 58 total were reported. Of those, 20 were listed as probable cases.
Active cases of the virus are now below 400 at 391 and the number of people hospitalized held steady at 49.
New cases across the Black Hills area included 4 new confirmed cases in Pennington County along with 2 listed as probable.
Oglala Lakota had 3 new cases, Fall River added 2 new cases and Meade County had one.
With the Memorial Day Weekend, state health officials will not issue another COID-19 report until Tuesday.
