PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Department of Health reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, with 2 of those listed as probable.
Active cases of COVID-19 across the state rose to 167 and the number of people hospitalized was 25.
No new deaths were added, leaving the states death toll at 2,038.
Across Western South Dakota, there were 14 confirmed cases reported: five in Pennington County, three in Oglala Lakota County, two each in Corson and Butte Counties, and one each in Lawrence and Gregory Counties.
One probable case was reported West River in Corson County.
Also on Friday, the Department of Health announced that starting July 5th, the South Dakota COVID-19 Dashboard would update on a weekly basis, not daily M-F. The weekly update will be Wednesday.
