Friday’s COVID-19 Report – 456 new cases, three new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – Health officials reported 456 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, with 99 of those listed under the probable category.

Active cases declined by 63 to 7,325 and the number of people hospitalized because of the virus dropped by one Friday to 213.

Three new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,145. New deaths were reported in Codington, Corson and Pennington Counties.

Pennington County reported 68 new cases Friday with 4 of those listed as probable.

Other new case numbers today across the Black Hills area included 18 in Meade County, 16 in Oglala Lakota, 13 in Lawrence  County, 10 in Fall River, 6 in Custer, 5 in Butte and one in Harding County.
