UNDATED – Gary Deering, of Hereford, SD has announced his candidacy for the District One seat on the Meade County Commission. Gary is a fourth-generation Meade County rancher and his family still lives on the land that has been in his family since 1911. Gary graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Range Management, and a minor in Economics. Over the past twenty years Gary has been
involved with many boards and organizations, and most recently served as President for the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association.
“All of my life I have had a desire to be involved and get things done,” said Deering. “After a great deal of prayer and visiting with my family, I have decided that the Board of Meade County Commissioners is a place that I can contribute to our community. I am looking forward to
using my experiences of working on local, state and national issues and putting them to work for the citizens
of Meade County”.
Deering is endorsed by many Meade County residents including, current District One Commissioner, Rod Bradley. Bradley says, “my conversations with Gary over the last three years have made it clear to me that Gary is the guy to bring unity and continue progress toward better government in Meade County. Gary makes a living as a producer and is raising school-aged children in the heart of Meade County. This puts him in a unique position of understanding what Meade County currently needs and will need for years to come. I recently asked Gary to run for the seat I have had the honor to hold, and I look forward to throwing my support behind him in his endeavor”.
Deering added, “I am putting a great team together to help me and I look forward to meeting more people throughout the county. If elected I will serve with honesty, and transparency; while upholding the Constitution, my conservative values, and putting the people of this county first. I hope many will reach out and share their thoughts, concerns, and goals for Meade County with me. Meade County is truly the best place to live and raise a family, with your help I feel I can make it better.”
