GILLETTE, WY – The Gillette Roughriders hosted the Sturgis Scoopers in a doubleheader on Tuesday evening and held the Scoopers scoreless in both games, blanking Sturgis 10-0 in game one, and 10-0 in game two.
In game one, Gillette scored five runs in the first inning and four more in the second enroute to the 10-0 win in five innings. Â The Scooper offense could only manage four hits, all singles from Adam Flohr, Kain Peters, Hunter Janzen and Beau Peters. Jason Fink got the win for Gillette on the mound and Dustin Alan took the loss for Sturgis.
Game two was a similar story, as the Riders scored one in the first, six in the second and three in the third, holding Sturgis scoreless through five innings. Â Beau Peters and Dawson Inhofer had hits for Sturgis. Mason Drube was the winning pitcher for Gillette and Connor Cruikshank took the loss for Sturgis.
The Scoopers (3-7) are in action next on Wednesday as they travel to Rapid City to battle the Stevens Raiders at McKeague Field at 7pm. Â Â
