Gillette steals two from Rapid City Post 22

GILLETEE, Wyo. – The Gillette Roughriders took both games of a doubleheader played Monday night.

In game one, Gillette quickly erased a 1-0 deficit in the second inning as Post 22 pitcher Bransen Keuhl walked four batters, resulting in three runs.

Gillette would add to its lead in the third with two more runs en-route to a 5-1 victory.

In game two, the Roughriders took a 2-0 lead in the first and led 4-1 after five before seeing the Hardhats mount a comeback.

Ryan Bachman opened up the sixth inning with a single and Dylan Richey added a double as the Hardhats cut the lead to 4-2.

Post 22 would add an additional run, but fall short as Gillette escaped with a 4-3 win.

Roughrider pitcher Matt Newlin retired the Hardhats in order in the seventh to preserve the victory.

Bachman and Richey finished with 2 hits each to help lead Post 22.
