Girls Class A and Class B SoDak 16 – St Thomas More stunned; RC Christian headed to state

UNDATED – There will be no state tournament berth for the Cavaliers this year.

St Thomas More was stunned by 12th seeded Flandreau in the Girls Class A SoDak 16 Thursday night 47-38.

The Cavaliers scored just 15 first-half points and then got outscored 31-23 in the second half by the Fliers.

Senior Reese Ross led St Thomas More with 23 points in the loss.

In other games, the Rapid City Christian Lady Comets are headed to their first state tournament in 27 years, as they topple the Miller Rustlers 60 to 47.

Olivia Kieffer scored 27 points to lead the Lady Comets, surpassing 2,400 for her high school career. Alexa Ham recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and added four blocks.

Fifth seeded Wall is headed to the state Girls B Tournament after a 74 to 64 win over Warner.

Paige Kjerstad poured in 31 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead the Eagles. Nora Dinger added 17 points and Alexis Stephan logged 14 points.
