Go Fund Me page set up for family who were displaced by weekend fire

BLACK HAWK, S.D. – A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help a family who lost their home and most of their belongings to a weekend fire.

The fire was reported around midnight Saturday and fire crews were able to keep the fire away from neighboring homes.

The family credits a neighbor for alerting them the house was on fire.

Terra Badmilk and her husband Avery were able to escape without injury, along with four of their five dogs. One of the dogs was missing. Fearing the worst, the couple told KNBN-TV in Rapid City that they found the dog the next morning, surviving the fire by hiding in the basement, which was flooded from the firefighters putting out the flames.

A fundraiser is being held, Wednesday, July 1st at the V.F.W. hall on Main Street in Rapid City.
