PIERRE, S.D. – SDBA has confirmed Governor Kristi Noem does not plan to take questions following Tuesday’s Budget speech in Pierre.
Noem spokesperson Ian Fury says the Governor will instead attend two press conferences on Wednesday; one in Huron and the other in Rapid City. The details of both events will not be sent to media until after tomorrows budget speech.
The Governor is required by law to present a budget address before a joint session of the state legislature on the second Tuesday in December. South Dakota Governor’s dating back to the 1980’s have traditionally met with reporters right after the speech to answer questions and clarify remarks.
Noem is frequently seen at national campaign events and took questions from Georgia press Sunday as she stumped for Republican candidates in that state.
