RAPID CITY, S.D. – Governor Kristi Noem met with officials from Monument Health, based in Rapid City, Wednesday morning.
Paulette Davidson, CEO at Monument, says they have spent the last several months preparing for COVID-19.
“Much of that preparation, we have brought our clinical teams together , our physicians, our caregivers, our leaders; to prepare for what could happen in western South Dakota. We are well prepare. We have a large health system in our region, we have providers outside Monument Health, we have clinicians that are doing what needs to be done in our communities.”
Davidson says they have implemented some new services recently to fight the virus, including drive up testing, a website and a toll free number people can call to ask specific questions about the virus.
The toll free number is 1-800-279-1466.
Monument Health operates hospitals in several western South Dakota communities, including Sturgis, Spearfish, Deadwood and Belle Fourche.
