PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff statewide effective immediately until sunset on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in honor of the victims of the tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
“May our Heavenly Father comfort those in pain and sorrow,” Noem said in a statement. “All South Dakotans stand with the people of Uvalde.”
This order is in response to a proclamation by President Joe Biden.
South Dakota’s Congressional delegation, as of Wednesday morning, had yet to issue any statements regarding yesterday’s mass shooting that claimed the lives of 19 children and 2 teachers in an elementary school.
