RAPID CITY, S.D. – A grass fire burned just over 14 acres of grass off South Dakota Highway 79 5 miles north of Hermosa Thursday.
Fire crews quickly responded and were able to stop the forward progress of the fire. It was declared contained Thursday evening.
The cause of the fire was listed as human.
Another small fire was reported south of Hill City Thursday afternoon.
The Reno Fire burned around a tenth of an acre before being controlled.
It too was human caused..
