MILLER, S.D. – After multiple days of searching, 17-year-old Wyatt Rowland has been found deceased.
Hand County Sheriff Shane Croeni gave an update at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fire Hall in Miller.
According to Hand County Sheriff Shane Croeni, Wyatt Rowland and his pickup were found separately in a small body of water north of Miller.
Sheriff Croeni went on to thank the multiple law enforcement agencies and volunteers who helped in the search, saying the support was “overwhelming.”
Wyatt was hanging out with friends in Miller on Saturday night but never made it to his home in Campbell Township.
He was driving a red 1995 Dodge Dakota pickup in rural Hand County. His last phone ping was at 12:41 a.m. on March 10, seven miles northwest of Miller near Lake Louise. One of two common routes home for Wyatt passes by Lake Louise.
Search efforts began Sunday, and that effort grew when over 100 law enforcement and volunteers continued the search throughout the day Monday and Tuesday. South Dakota’s Civil Air Patrol also joined the search.
