ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. – Ellsworth Air Force Base held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for a new facility that will help house the new B-21 bomber.
Base officials were joined by Congressman Dusty Johnson, local officials and others for the ceremony.
The 95,000 square foot Low Observable Restoration Facility will be a two bay hangar that will house specialized equipment for the maintenance of the stealth aircraft.
The new hangar will be built near the Pride Hangar and is slated to one of the first facilities being built in anticipation of the B-21’s arrival.
