Health Department reports 30 new COVID-19 cases in Monday report

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health recorded 30 new COVID-19 cases today with no new deaths reported.

The number of active cases across the state has dropped as well, down 32 to 892.

In the Black Hills area, Pennington County added 6 new cases Monday, sending the cumulative total to 392 with 179 active cases.

In Meade County, only one new case was reported. There are 16 active cases in Meade with 37 cumulative.

Around western South Dakota, Bennett County reported their first case of COVID-19 today.

Other cases included 6 in Minnehaha, 3 in Lincoln 2 each in Beadle, Brookings, Brown and Clark, and one each in Buffalo, Clay, Davison, Hutchinson, and Lake counties.

The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 increased by 6 today to 93, up from 87 Sunday.

Total recoveries are at 4,961, up 62 from Sunday (4,899).
