Health Department reports 68 new COVID-19 cases; Stanley County sees uptick

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 68 news cases of COVID-19 in its Tuesday report and no new deaths.

Minnehaha saw the most cases with 59, although Stanley County saw an additional four cases, sending their total to 6. Buffalo County on the Crow Creek Reservation also reported their first positive test. Other cases were reported in Lincoln and Union. There were no new cases in the Black Hills area.

South Dakota now has 2,313 cumulative cases and 1,392 recoveries, up 76 from Monday. This is the second day in a row new recoveries were more than new cases.

Active cases are now at 909, down from Monday’s 918. There have been 14,299 negative tests. In Meade County there have been 156 negative tests, in Lawrence County, 171 and in Pennington County, there have been 789 negative tests.

Current hospitalizations are at 69, up eight from Monday. Total hospitalizations are now at 157, up from Monday’s 150.
