Health Department reports just 11 new cases of COVID-19 in Monday report

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health reported just 11 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, with two of them listed as probable. Not since the early days of the pandemic have such few new cases been reported in a daily report.

Active cases decreased by 91 Monday to 2,067 and the number of people hospitalized fell by 5 to 67.

One new death was reported, sending the state’s death toll to 1,901. The new death reported was a man from Spink County who was in the 70-79 age range.

Across the Black Hills area, the only county reporting a new case today was Custer County, who had one, new, confirmed case.
