PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 756 new cases of COVID-19 in their Tuesday report, which included numbers from Saturday and Sunday. Of the 756 new cases, 117 were listed as probable.
Active cases have dropped below 7,000 today to 6,889. The number of people hospitalized increased by 19 to 220.
One new death was reported, sending the state’s toll to 2,161.
Across the Black Hills, Pennington County reported 127 confirmed cases and 14 probable cases for a total of 141.
Both Lawrence and Custer Counties reported 23 new cases each and Meade County added 29 confirmed and 4 probable.
Elsewhere, Butte listed 7 new cases, Fall River had 14 and Oglala Lakota County showed 12 new cases.
