PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota saw 134 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday.
In the daily update from the South Dakota Department of Health, 43 of today’s new cases were listed as probable.
Active cases were up by 23 today to 1,933. The number of people hospitalized dropped by two to 89.
There were two new deaths reported Sunday. One of those deaths was out of Pennington County, where the death toll is now 189 since the pandemic began. Statewide, there have been 1,888 deaths.
Pennington County reported 13 new cases Sunday, with 2 of them listed as probable. Active cases in Pennington County total 226 as of today.
In Lawrence County, where there are 32 active cases, 2 new, confirmed cases were reported.
Meade County added one new, confirmed case and one probable case Sunday. There are 53 active cases in Meade.
Elsewhere around the Black Hills area, there was one new cases each in Custer and Oglala Lakota County.
