Health officials report 163 new COVID-19 cases Sunday; no new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. — In their Sunday report, the Department of Health reported 163 new cases of COVID-19, with 41 of them considered as probable.

Active cases were down a bit from Saturday to 2,443 on Sunday.

The number of people hospitalized due to the virus increased to 80.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the state death toll at 1,933.

Ten confirmed cases were reported West River: five in Pennington County, two in Dewey County, and one each in Meade, Butte, and Oglala Lakota Counties.

One new probable case was reported West River in Pennington County.
