Health officials report 40 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported just 40 new cases of COVID-19 in their Wednesday report. Of those 40, 7 were listed as probable.

Active cases continue their downslide to 674 and the number of people hospitalized was 53.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,994.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County had 5 new cases, Butte County added 4, Custer County reported 3 new cases and Lawrence County had 1.
