Health officials report 5 new deaths Sunday in daily COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – Five new COVID-19 related deaths were reported Sunday as the state’s death toll reached 1,809 according to state health officials

Of the new deaths, two of them were out of Pennington County, where there are now 177 total since the pandemic began.

New cases today totaled 98 with 34 of them listed as probable.

Active cases decreased to 2,316 and the number of people hospitalized because of the virus dropped by two to 113.

In Pennington County, eleven new, confirmed cases were reported, sending the cumulative total to 2,316.

Meade County added two new, confirmed cases and Lawrence County added one.

Butte listed one new probable case.
