Health officials report 57 new COVID cases Friday with seven new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – Friday’s COVID-19 numbers totaled 57 according to the state Department of Health.

Active cases have declined to 3,754 and 127 people are hospitalized.

There were seven new deaths today, sending the state’s death toll to 2,827. One of the new deaths was out of Custer County.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 21 new cases. Pennington County had 11, Lawrence County reported 4, Fall River County and Oglala Lakota County each reported 2 new cases and there was one new case each out of Meade and Custer County.
