PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 127 new cases of COVID-19 in their Tuesday report. Of those, 15 were classified as probable.
Active cases of the virus tumbled 381 today to 4,232 and there were no new deaths reported. With no new deaths, the state’s death toll remains at 1,667. Death totals across the Black Hills include 161 in Pennington, 35 in Lawrence, 26 in Meade, 20 in Butte, 10 in Custer, 13 in Custer and 40 in Oglala Lakota.
The number of people hospitalized dropped by 3 to 200.
Across West River counties, there were 27 total cases with 5 of them listed as probable.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 11 new cases, sending the cumulative total to 12,068. Active cases are down to 507.
Meade and Lawrence County each added 3 new cases. Total cases in Meade are 2,413 and total cases in Lawrence are 2,714.
Elsewhere across the Black Hills area, there were 2 new cases in Custer and one new case in Fall River.
