Health officials report lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in months Monday

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in months Monday as just 22 confirmed  cases were listed. There 10 listed as probable for a total of 32.

No new deaths were reported Monday, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,705.

Active cases of the virus dropped 327 to 3,678 and the number of people hospitalized fell to 161.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 12 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Pennington County had 7 of the new cases, sending the total there to 1,2248. Active cases are down to 404.

Lawrence County added 2 confirmed cases while Meade County added just one new case. Active cases in Lawrence County drop to 53 while active cases in Meade total 84.

Butte and Oglala Lakota Counties each reported one new case as well Monday.
