New test results indicate all of Hideaway Hills subdivision may be unstable

BLACK HAWK, S.D. – The team in charge of the most recent tests within the Hideaway Hills subdivision has released their latest results.

They say their most recent tests show the instability underground extends well beyond Daisy Drive and all 153 homes in the immediate area are uninhabitable.

The Hideaway Hills dilemma began last April when a sinkhole that opened up revealed on old gypsum mine underneath.

More than 150 homeowners in the Hideaway Hills development in Black Hawk announced last month they are suing Meade County over risks to their properties.

Up next is to have a hearing on the motion to certify the class action lawsuit involving the subdivisions residents and the court will have to decide whether they agree, given all the evidence, that all of Hideaway Hills is unstable.
