RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Hill City Rangers gave it their all, but fell a little short in their opening game at the South Dakota Volleyball State Tournament Thursday.
The Rangers dropped the first two sets to their opponent, the Wagner Red Raiders, only to come roaring back and get a set three victory 25-11.
The fourth set was close the whole way, and Wagner was able to outlast the Rangers 26-24 to win the match 3-1 and advance to Friday’s semifinals against Sioux Falls Christian.
Marie Peckosh helped lead Hill City with 11 kills and a dozen digs.
Hill City will play Parkston in the consolation Friday.
