STURGIS, S.D. – An exceptional turnout showed the support of community togetherness Sunday as hundreds came out to support Marcia Potts.
Marcia is battling cancer, and a 5K Run/Walk and ice cream social Sunday helped raise money for her fight. Proceeds will help the family with ongoing expenses for chemotherapy and immunotherapy along with travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
For decades, Marcia Potts has helped others. Students, friends and family have all relied on her in her many roles, including as a long-time school nurse in the Meade 46-1 School District.
On Sunday, she was excited to see so many turn out to return the love.
Several local businesses provided prizes that were given away and local D.J. Chad Legner provided music.
Marcia’s husband, Tim, was grateful for the wonderful turnout and loves the support the residents’ of the community have provided.
