Huron downs Sturgis in Saturday night baseball

STURGIS, S.D. – The Huron Tigers rolled over Douglas 15-0 before defeating Sturgis 8-3 in Saturday night baseball at Strong Field.

The Tigers scored 2 runs in the first, 2 runs in the third, one run in the fourth and fifth and another two runs in the sixth to get the win over the Scoopers.

Starting pitcher Mason Davis got the win for Huron, pitching a shut out, before he was replaced by Max Kranzler, who allowed the Scoopers’ three runs in the bottom half of the sixth.

Dawson Inhofer took the pitching loss for Sturgis, striking out three in two innings of work.

Sturgis is 2-2 on the season.
