STURGIS, S.D. – A date for a post-rally recap community forum to review the impact and outcomes of the Spirit of Sturgis TT race during the 2024 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is yet to be determined.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2, but AMA Pro told city officials there were several reasons for the postponement of the meeting including:
- Pending receipts and finalization from 3rd party vendors for some costs of the race
- Needing official accounting verification of the budget once 100% of debits/credits were received, before being released to the public as “official”
- Including AMA Pro’s strategy for the 2025 race to be presented in conjunction with the 2024 review.
AMA Pro Racing was obligated to hold a reconciliation meeting for the SturgisTT with the city by Oct. 11. But today, in coordination with the city, AMA Pro Racing announced the postponement of the 2024 Sturgis TT budget reconciliation meeting due to the impact of Hurricane Milton, which has affected AMA Pro Racing staff located in Florida, preventing their ability to travel for a meeting.
As a result, the reconciliation meeting will be rescheduled to a future date, to be determined once the situation stabilizes, AMA officials said. A new date will be announced in coordination with the city soon.
“We understand the importance of this meeting for all stakeholders and will work diligently to announce a new date as soon as possible. Once rescheduled, the meeting will cover the 2024 Sturgis TT budget review, the event’s performance, and plans for the 2025 Sturgis TT race,” said Cameron Gray, AMA Pro’s Director of Sales & Partnerships.
