PIERRE, S.D. – Governor Kristi Noem presented her budget address to the South Dakota Legislature last week. District 24 Senator and incoming Senate Majority Leader Jim Mehlhaff of Pierre says Noem’s one-point-two-five percent increase for providers, schools and state workers is getting pressure already.
Pierre, being the home to state government, and the heart of the district Mehlhaff represents. The Governor’s plan to cut maintenance on state facilities is a concern to him.
The 100th session of the South Dakota Legislature begins January 14th in Pierre.
