David Neil Morrison

David Neil Morrison

David Neil Morrison

- November 16, 2020

David Neil Morrison, “Dave,” was born on the Morrison family farm near Freeport, Pennsylvania, on May 18, 1948, to Robert P. and Martha G. Morrison. David passed away in Rapid City, SD, on November 12, 2020, due to Covid-19.

David was raised on the family farm, where he developed his love for tractors, farming, and hard work. In 1966 he graduated from Freeport Area High School where he met his High School sweetheart Linda Jacobs. He was then drafted into the army and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Vietnam era. He then married Linda in 1971 and shortly after they became parents to their son Aaron. They lived in Pennsylvania until 1999, when they chose to move to South Dakota.

In South Dakota, they made a wonderful life and many friends. David worked with heavy machinery, farmed, and became involved in the Western Dakota Antique Club. Much of David’s other free time was spent proudly supporting his three granddaughters in all of their activities.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert P. and Martha G. Morrison.

Grateful to have been part of his life, David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Jacobs Morrison; his son, Aaron (Tanya) Morrison; his grandchildren, Tristen (Steven) Moore, Katie Morrison, and Maddie Morrison; his brothers, Roger Morrison (Candy Sullivan) and Scott (Elaine) Morrison; his sister Margret Morrison; his nephews, Ben (Jenn) Morrison, Jimmy Morrison, Jason Morrison, and Brandon Beatty (Chris Nolan); his nieces, Lauren (Tod) Virden, and Sara (Ryan) Ressel; his sister-in-law, Amy (Joe) Hodish; his brother-in-law, Eugene Jacobs; along with his beloved dog Charlie.

David has requested that there be no funeral held in his honor. Instead, he would like a celebration of life sometime soon after it is safe for us to gather together.

Interment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Dakota Antique Club in care of Linda Morrison, 13776 LH Road Fairburn SD, 57738.
