Former Scooper helping Augustana to a 14-0 start to season

Gary Matthews - January 8, 2018

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The fantastic season for the Augustana Women’s Basketball team continues, and the coach’s poll is starting to take notice.

The Vikings are a perfect 14-0, coming off an 85-66 win over Concordia College on Saturday night. They are currently ranked 12th in the Division II coaches poll.

Helping to lead the charge is former Sturgis Scooper standout Lynsey Prosser. Prosser, who helped lead the Scoopers to a state tournament appearance in 2014, is averaging 7.5 points per game for the Vikings.

Prosser is in her junior year and is the team’s starting point guard.

During her time in Sturgis, Prosser averaged 17 points per game, pulled down 6.5 rebounds and dished out 2.1 assists per game. She finished with 1,276 points for her high school career.

She has three games this year in which she has scored in double-figures. Her biggest night came on November 25 in a win over Lake Superior State in which she scored 15 points.  The night before, Prosser scored 14 against Michigan Tech.

The Vikings will play at #19 Northern State University in Aberdeen on Saturday night in their biggest game of the season so far.

The Auggie vs NSU matchup has drawn record crowds for Division II games the past two years.
