Sturgis rolls over Douglas in offensive explosion

STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Scoopers unloaded their offense on Douglas, scoring 61 points in a 61-27 win over the Patriots Friday night.

Manny Gallosa and Cedrick Stabber each had two touchdowns to lead Sturgis.

Gallosa scored on a 47-yard run and a 15 yard run in the first quarter and Stabber scored on a 41 yard and 67 yard run.

Gavin West started the scoring for the Scoopers on a 53 yard scamper into the end zone in the first quarter. He was followed by Trevor Erlenbush who scored on a 7 yard catch for a score from West.

Erlenbush would score again in the second quarter on a 15 yard run to the end zone.

Jay Krull added an 11 yard catch for a touchdown and Daylen Rhodes scored for the Scoopers in the fourth quarter from 4 yards out.

Stabber led Sturgis in rushing, with 4 carries for 199 yards. Erlenbusch carried the ball 7 times for 81 yards.

Zac Shoun went 4 for 4 in passing, for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

Douglas Quarterback David Severson scored twice for the Patriots on a 2 yard run in the third quarter and a 1 yard run in the second quarter capping off a 65-yard drive.
