Sturgis, Rapid City Stevens, Central all shine at Festival of Relays

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Athletes from Sturgis, Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central did well at Tuesday's Festival of Relays Track and Field Meet at Sioux Park.

Gavin West of Sturgis won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.42 seconds. West also captured the pole vault title with a mark of 13-feet.

Taylor Opstedahl gave the Scoopers a win in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 43.98 and Alec Keffeler brought home the gold in the triple jump.

Olivia Jolley was first in the high jump on the Scooper girls' side.

Rapid City Stevens boys' and girls' won the 4-by-800 meter relays and the Raider girls' won the 1,600 sprint medley. The Stevens boys' won the 4-by-100 and 4-by-200 meter relay with the Scooper boys capturing first in the 1,000 and 1,600 sprint medleys.

The Raider girls captured the 4-by-800 relay and Elizabeth Schaefer of Stevens won the 100 and 300-meter hurdles.

For Rapid City Central, the Cobblers won the 4-by-100, 4-by-200 and the 1,000 sprint medley.

Spearfish got into the winners circle by capturing the 4-by-400 meter relay.

In other track and field action, there were a number of multiple event winners at the Belle Fourche Invitational.

Tyndall Jackson of Belle Fourche won the long jump and triple jump and Shane Collins of Bison won the shot put and discus.

Grayson Osmon of Moorcroft, Wyoming won the 100 and 200-meters and Dillon Reede of Lemmon won the 110 and 300-meter hurdles.

On the girls' side, Kaci Cooper of St Thomas More won the 200 and 400-meters and Jordynn Toliver of Douglas captured the 100 and 300-meter hurdles.
