Patrick “Pat” Cassidy, 78, of Lead, SD went to rest with Jesus on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital in Deadwood, SD.

Patrick John Cassidy was born on July 8, 1941, in Sturgis, SD, a son of Gilbert and Theresia (Hutter) Cassidy. He grew up in Whitewood and Spearfish, SD where he attended school. Following his graduation from high school, Pat completed a one-year mechanic course in Denver, CO.

After returning from Denver, Pat met Ruth Yanzick, and the two were married November 27, 1962. The couple would eventually move to Lead, SD in 1963, where they made their home. To this union two children were born, Kenneth and Kimberly. In Lead, Pat and Ruth owned and operated Pat’s Sinclair on East Main Street. Following the death of Ruth in 2003, Pat continued to operate the business, eventually just doing mechanic work and providing a space for his friends and customers to gather. In 2005, Pat met Audie Houk, and the two were married on June 24, 2006. Together they operated the family business which Pat started in 1971, until his passing. Pat had a strong work ethic often saying, he would have worked until he was 80 if his health was better!

In Pat’s early years he was a member of the Moose Lodge. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and bowling, but especially enjoyed being with family and friends. His biggest accomplishments in life was being a good provider and mechanic; but his greatest love was for his wife and family. Pat was also a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lead.

Pat is survived by his wife, Audie Cassidy, Lead, SD; son, Kenneth Cassidy, Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Kimberly Cassidy, Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter, Chelsea Hohbach, Mt Vernon, SD; great-grandchildren, Evan and Ensley Hohbach, Mt Vernon, SD; three brothers, Larry Cassidy, Sundance, WY, Phillip Cassidy, Aurora CO and Leo Cassidy, Spearfish, SD; sister, Kathleen Bau, Mesa, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Theresia and his first wife, Ruth.
