PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Office of the Attorney General reports that Belle Fourche Fire Services were dispatched to a residence in Butte County for a structure fire.
The office reports that on Sunday, September 11, fire personnel discovered suspected human remains at 19145 Canyon Lane during suppression efforts.
The Division of Criminal Investigation had agents on scene to conduct an investigation of the premises, complete interviews and execute a search warrant of the situation.
The following parties are continuing the investigation: Butte County Sheriffs Office, S.D. Fire Marshals Office, and the Division of Criminal Investigation. The South Dakota Highway Patrol and Belle Fourche Police Department assisted with the investigation.
