Iron Fire burning in Black Elk wilderness is 100% contained

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Iron Fire, burning in the Black Elk wilderness, is now 100-percent contained.

The lightning sparked fire, located a mile southeast of Black Elk Peak, burned just over an acre.

A hard line has dug around the fire and mop-up operations are underway.

Trails and parking areas that were closed because of the fire were reopened on Monday.
