Jamie L. VanDervoort, 45, Piedmont, SD, passed away peacefully with her husband, Reed by her side on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Monument Home Plus Hospice House in Rapid City after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jamie L. Fettig was born April 10, 1979, to James and Susan (White) Fettig in Rapid City, SD.  She was raised in the Sturgis area, attended school there and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1997. Jamie grew up riding and training barrel horses and was active in rodeo from a young age. During her teenage years she won many belt buckles and saddles as awards for her performances. She also qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals four years.
After High School Jamie attended Black Hills Beauty College, later continuing her education in Gillette, WY.  Jamie was a successful business woman, always dreaming up new business ideas even in the last few months of her life. She operated J & S Saddle & Tack which she took over from her parents. Later she started All That Glitters, Ranch Diva, and most recently, To The Moon & Back Photography, among other business ventures. Photography was her biggest passion. Jamie always strived to be the best at whatever she set out to do. She married, Reed VanDervoort on September 4, 2016, at their ranch near Piedmont. She enjoyed working together with Reed on the ranch in the years to follow.

Jamie was a warrior and lived her life with strength, courage, and grace despite the many tough times that came her way. If you told Jamie she couldn’t do it or it couldn’t be done she’d defy it and do it anyway. She was incredibly strong and resilient. Jamie also had a kind and gentle heart and loved animals, especially baby ones, flowers, nature, and wildlife. Most of all, she loved her husband, children, and being a mom.
Jamie is survived by her husband: Reed, Piedmont; children: Caelan Farlee (Ashley Mundt), Piedmont, Cassidy Farlee (Alan Lemke), Carsyn Farlee, both of Dupree, Roan VanDervoort, and Bryndle VanDervoort, both of Piedmont; brother, Jay Fettig, Vale; grandmother, Angie Fettig, Rapid City; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, James, and Susan Fettig.
